Robin Quinn opens the door to the empty music room and breaths a sigh of relief. School has been over for two hours and it's the middle of dinner so there is no chance that anyone will interrupt her. Instead of going right to playing like she had planned, she sits down on the bench and rests her sore head on the wood covering the keys. Today had been... the worst day in a while. Robin props herself up on her elbows and fumbles with one hand for the small bottle of pills in her back. The sudden movement sends to much blood rushing to her head and her mind goes as blank as her vision for a moment. She freezes for a moment and after a little bit the pressure decreases and her vision comes back completely. "Beh!" She snarls, disgusted with herself. Before she can get sick again she pours four pills into her hand and swallows them without water. The relief is almost spontaneous, though she suspects that it's just the placebo effect arriving before the real thing. Robin opens the piano and pulls out her favorite book of classical music and open it to one of the Chopin songs. After stretching out her fingers she starts playing, feeling like she can finally relax.

In the corner of the room, cleverly disguised, a shadow faintly twitches. It had been sitting there a while, unnoticed for much of the afternoon. To Alucard, it was the best way to hide. No one could find him, and so he was left alone with plenty of time to mourn. His grief was so immense, that he did not notice the girl that had come in some time ago until the sound of the piano brought him out of his melancholic stupor.
It is beautiful music, but also sad. All beautiful things must end eventually, and that is why the music was bittersweet to his listening ears. But he still listened. It was a distraction from himself. All the while, Alucard did not realize that he had completely materialized into the room, and was now quite visible.

"Ah-ma-gosh!" Robin yelps, falling backwards off of the piano bench the moment she sees the tall pale guy with the black hair sitting in the corner. Suddenly her cough comes back and she doubles over until she clears her throat again. "Who. Are. You?" She asks, getting back to her feet and pushing her long blond hair out of her eyes.

"I'm sorry," Alucard says, almost mechanically. His expression is blank, and there is dried blood on his face where his tears had tracked on the pale skin of his cheeks. "I didn't mean to frighten you. You were playing so nicely.."

Robin blushes, realizing that this person is crying. "No. It's my fault. I didn't even see you, I should have realized that you were... using the music room." She covers her mouth with her wrist to hide the fact that she's rudely smiling at his complement when he's upset. "Thanks, but... why are you so upset?"

Alucard didn't answer at first. He looked down at his wrist where the black bracelet that Raven had made him for Christmas still clung. He'd promised he'd never take it off. Alucard quickly looked back up at Robin when he felt more tears start to well up in his eyes. The memory was painful, not because it was a bad one, but because it was another reminder that she was gone. "I couldn't save her," he replied bitterly, raising a hand to wipe the newly conceived tears off his face.

Robin's blue eyes widen in shock. She abandons her stuff and walks over to sit cross-leg next to him in the corner. "Um... it's alright. I promise. Please don't feel guilty." She's always felt useless in situations like this, not knowing what to say. Her eyes lock onto the bracelet he's staring at so fixedly. That person must have made that for him, or given it to him, she assumes. Robin looks back at him, feeling so low because she can't make him feel better or at least understand fully why he's upset.
(see? completely different from Raven. She would have smacked him already. lol)

//OOC: heh//
Alucard looked over at Robin after he recovered from his mini breakdown. Why she was being nice to him was beyond his understanding, as a majority of the Castle students looked down on the Havens kids; only a handful were an exception, apparently including Robin. He didn't want to hurt her feelings by pushing her away, so he relented to her kindness. "..You asked for my name," Alucard replied, trying to change the subject. "Its Alucard."

"Hmm... that's Dracula backwards." She says after a moment, dead serious, then she smiles. "It's nice to meet you! I'm Robin Quinn." Robin stretches out her arms and leans back against the wall, deciding that she's going to stay here for a while.

"Nice to meet you..Robin," Alucard says, hiding his surprise. She'd picked that tidbit up rather quickly. Most other people took a little longer to figure it out. Deciding to sidestep that story, he adds, "You know, you don't have to stay here. With me." Even though Alucard appreciates that she does.

"Nice to meet you too." Robin says, matching his formal tone. "But... I don't think people should be left alone when they're upset unless that's what they want." When she was little she had spent a lot of time during the night crying and a lot of mornings trying to be the type of strong but really sick girl you hear about in stories. Now that she thinks about it... it would have been nice to have had someone to confide in. "Besides, I was...uh, kind of lonely being here all alone."

"I know how that is." For the past few days, he'd felt so lost and alone, and hadn't been himself. Alucard sighed. "In that case..please stay. I'm sorry for what I said earlier..I just don't know what I want anymore."

She smiles slightly. "Don't apologize, I've already forgotten if you offended me or not so it doesn't matter." Robin glances away to hide her confusion, really not sure what he's apologizing for. "And we're both still in high school, I'm pretty sure you'll figure out what you want eventually."

"Yeah? I guess so." Alucard hadn't meant it in that way, but he didn't know Robin well enough to explain himself. Not yet, at least. So the conversation won't drag on so depressingly, he asks, "So you play piano? I can't exactly place the title of the piece, but was that Chopin?"

"You recognized him? It was one of his Nocturnes, Nocturne in F major." Robin grins, delighted that this Havens person knows something about music. The people here... are either clueless or stuck up, in her opinion. "I play piano, guitar, and the harp. Oh, and I sing. What about you?"
