"Chess..." Robin mumbles doubtfully. "That's cool, I guess. You have to be smart to play chess, right? I've never played, so we're even. But... you're really from the Havens? It must be pretty different here. I know I had a hard time getting used to this place." It's certainly a lot more extravagant than a hospital room She laughs to hide her depressing mini-flashback.

Alucard nods slowly. "Yes. It was...very different," he replies, frowning. Not all of his memories of the place were good ones. "I just never expected that the government would so something that radical. Burning the place down..no one needed to die. It could have been avoided." |

Robin breaths out heavily and stares up at the ceiling. What to say... "You're right. Their deaths were not needed." She pauses, thinking carefully about what she just said. "But when you say it like that... they don't sound very important. That girl you love... her death was just as much a part of her as her birth, or her hair color. If you really love her, then how can you say that a part of her wasn't needed?"
(huh. I tried to make her more different but she still reasons things out the same way Raven did. oh well.)

"Because I never.." Alucard trailed. Wanted her to die. He knows death is just another spoke on the wheel of life, and can't be avoided, but the way she died was something he didn't wish on anyone. "I would have traded anything.."

Robin looks down at the floor, ashamed of herself. What an insensitive thing to say! She should just leave now before he starts to hate her. "Well, I can only say that I'm sorry." She mumbles sincerely.

Alucard thought carefully before he spoke. His depression was driving people away when he actually needed them to be there. "Its..you don't have to apologize," he says in an attempt to change Robin's mind about leaving. "Maybe you have a point." Alucard sighs internally, frustrated that his people skills have gone out the window.

Robin studies Alucard for a moment, trying to figure out what he's really thinking. Or at least what he wants to hear. She grunts to acknowledge his concession before voicing her own thoughts again. "If you think you'd be alright with it, do you want to go somewhere else? Castle doesn't have a town near it like Havens does, but there is a coffee place a bit down the road."

Robin smiles, glad that he hadn't immediately shot down her idea. Of course, walking anywhere was never a good idea for her, but she convinces herself that she's more than able to walk a few blocks. "Great. It's not far, do you mind walking?" She gets up and slings her light green shoulder bag which serves as a backpack over her shoulder.

Alucard shakes his head as he stands up. "No, I don't mind. I need to get out anyways." It was true; ever since he arrived, he hadn't really gone outside, or hung out outside of school. |

"Alright." Robin leads him downstairs and out of the building. "So... where are you from?" She asks after a few minutes of silence. Normally she would have been fine walking outside quietly by herself on a sunny day like this, but since this Havens student is here he's too interesting to not talk to. Of course, not in a bad way... She reprimands herself before deciding to stop thinking so much about this before she jumps to far ahead of herself and forgets that he's still getting over that other girl. She occupies herself instead by thinking of ways to cheer him up more, which seems to be a safe topic.

"Nevada," Alucard replied, walking outside behind Robin. "Is it always this sunny here?" he asked. The weather was always kind of varied where he came from, but California was definitely different. Warm, sunny, an occasional rainy patch here or there and thunderstorms. |

"Wow, you're pretty far from there. Yeah, pretty much every day is sun and more sun. But it snowed once last year and it rains enough." Robin laughs, knowing that that's a bit overstatement. Having lived her all her life she'd gotten used to the heat a long time ago and even enjoyed it. However, it did make going other places a bit of a nuisance because those places were almost always colder.
