Tyler saw Flock in the crowd. Almost time, he thought, I still have to blend in. "...beat him if you wanted to." He heard Black say. He looked back at Black, Tyler's dark eyes danced with amusement. "I could, but I'd probably not get dessert for a week. I do love my tiramisu." He replied. From the corner of his eye, Flock started angrily marching away. He almost slipped away into the crowd to follow, but remembered that some people at Castle would be keeping an eye on him, so he didn't. Black's question caught him by surprise. For a second, Tyler was at a loss for words. "I knew it, you really are gay." He joked when he recovered. Before Black could retort, he replied. "Sure, why not."
Samie laughed lightly at her cousin's comment. "Trust me, they asked you, you just didn't know." She told her cousin, shaking her dark hair in disapproval as she talked.

Black
Black's eyes widen. "I'm not!" She protests. She does like guys, but since she's a girl she's technically not gay, just a transvestite. She frowns, the gender stuff is always confusing. She feels a gaping pit open up in her stomach, she is so sure he's going to say no. When he actually says the opposite relief washes through her. Relief, that's got to be one of the most amazing emotions she's ever felt. "Really? Let's go then." Black gets up and leads the way to the dance floor. She's careful to avoid the mass of people in the center who are trying to make up for their lack of dancing skills by jumping around like idiots. She starts dancing, hoping that Tyler won't laugh at her or anything because she's really not the best dancer, though she's not terrible enough to have to resort to the jumping.
Sheer
Sheer jumps to his feet, allowing Angel to drag him away. "Bye, Rekeese." He says over his shoulder. "See you." He bites his lip, why does he feel bad about leaving her? That's odd, since most people don't really matter to him. Angel, probably, being one of the exceptions. That's different, though, because family is more important than normal friends. "Wow, you're enthusiastic." He says to his sister. "Favorite song or something?"
Evan
The twin turns to look at Kerri, surprise written all over his face. "Oh... hi." He says lamely, unable to come up with better words. Barlow shakes her hand, nodding to her. "I'm Barlow, nice to meet you. Now, if you'll excuse me..." He smiles and disappears into the crowd. Evan shifts his weight from one foot to the other, feeling awkward and breathing in the cigarette smoke. "Um, how've you been?" While he talks he looks over her head at the crowd. He needs to find Kao and Fivel, they should be here at the dance.
Juliet
"Oh, uh, bye." She says, taken by surprise by Haku's sudden farewell. For a few moments she looks around and tries to figure out what to do. Juliet looks back over her shoulder at Haku and laughs. "Artemis, I'll be right back. See you." She says quickly before pushing her way through the crowd to follow Haku.
Barlow glances at Haku, his eyebrows furrowed so that they almost look like they're touching. Then his expression clears and an easy smile touches his lips. While everyone crowds around Haku he slips through them and disappears into a darker corner of the room so as not to be noticed.
Juliet shoves people roughly out of the way, not really caring when they glare at her or flip her off. "Haku?" She asks, kneeling down next to him. For some reason what is happening here seems very familiar. That's not right, she's never seen this person before she came here, he isn't in any of her memories. Even though he manages to say 'I'm fine' Juliet doubts that he's telling the truth. When is that ever the truth? Suddenly she's able to place it; this was what happened to her when she wasn't able to control her modifier powers. "Hey! Get away, you're not helping him." She yells, glaring at all the people who are to close. They back away and she grabs Haku's hand. "Haku? Let's just get out, okay? Then it'll be fine."

//OOC: Is it too much to ask what's going on? Or is it a surprise?//
Alucard
Alucard pulled his mask up briefly to wink at Robin. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?" he replied, grinning, his old humor recovered. "Anyways, I would be delighted to dance with you." Delighted? Where did that come from? I'm starting to sound like Vlad. Vlad was Alucard's alternate personality that had been stowed away in a dusty corner of his mind until the Fathom fiasco. He was the person that Alucard was reincarnated to be, yet existed as an inert alternate personality, until now of course.
Alucard hoped he could keep Vlad subdued. The last thing he needed was for the Count to make an appearance and complicate things, or worse, give away his most secretive secret. Shrugging off the wearying thoughts, Alucard held his hand out to Robin. "Shall we?" he asked.
Radu
Radu was about to throw his hands up in frustration. Fifteen minutes had come and gone, and he still hadn't found Tiffany yet. He was very anxious to see her. She hadn't given him a clue as to what she would be wearing, but Radu was fine with that. He liked surprises. This is ridiculous, he thought, scanning the crowd for the hundredth time.
Focusing, Radu sent Tiffany a telepathic message: Hey Tiffany, its Radu. I can't find you anywhere. Could you meet me over by the punchbowl? I've got something for you. In his hands he held a blue hydrangya corsage. Blue hydrangyas were Tiffany's favorite flowers.
Abel & Helena
Neither Abel nor Helena had anyone to dance with, so they decided to hang out at the dance. Abel hadn't minded escorting her here, and she had been more than happy to be escorted. "Its very gentlemanly of you," Helena had said. After a round of dancing, Helena happened to spy a lone figure standing by the wall. Oh my God. Artemis! He had been talking to Juliet and Haku, it looked like. Then they left him.
"Abel, come on," Helena insisted, "Lets go see Arty." Abel nodded. "Alright," he agreed. He wonder when and how Artemis had gotten here.

<Um, it's not set in stone yet, but Evan is going to do something dramatic and stupid, Robin is going to try to poison Sheer in efforts to pay back Flock, and Barlow is still making up his mind on what he wants to do.>
Robin
"Well, I guess I'm not very traditional." Robin laughs. She happily takes Alucard's hand and follows him onto the dance floor. The music is too fast and energetic for them to slow dance, not that she had been hoping for a slow dance... but she's disappointing all the same. It is easier for her to dance to softer music but she decides that she'll just dance like everyone else and enjoy being able to use her body properly. There's nothing she has to do right now, though it would be stupid to let to much time get away from her and risk making Flock angry.

Flock Flock laughed. She had just taken out Haku, which only left a few targets to go. Taking out Haku meant taking out Hastings's only guardian, besides her son. Who was, in reality, a heartless, ruthless coldblooded killer out to murder his own mother. But, hey, that's just how it is, right? She disappeared in the crowd, pleased with the approaching outcome of the evening.
Haku His heart felt as if he was squeezing every last bit of air through the tiny organ located in his chest. He could feel the palpiation over and over, which made his head spin. His stomach lurched with every passing second that he refused the change from man to beast. Don't give in. He told himself. Don't give in..! But then there was another lurch, and he had a split second of deafening pain, which made him shake with anger. This is preposterous! he thought. I have to stop Flock, I have to stop Barlow, and against all odds, I have to stop Tyler.
As Juliet went to aid him, he stared at her with his sharp green eyes. "Why.." he managed. "Why would you help someone you don't even know?" He didn't understand the principle of kindness, or being fond of someone; it was all strange to him.

Angel smiled at her big brother. "Well, the nice DJ dude over there sent me on a mission to get people dancing! And who could do that better than me?" She paused for a second to consider what she just said. "Well.....probably a lot of people but I will still fulfill my mission!" She put on a determined faced while dancing, which looked pretty ridiculous with her braids flopping around. After twirling and dancing with Sheer and finding two targets to get dancing, she stopped. "Ok, now I've found my two targets. That girl and that dude" She broadly pointed to Brooke and Tyler, who she didn't really know. "Sooooooo you go find yourself some pretty girl to dance with, like that Rekees girlie girl!" She grinned at him "Hehe, you don't have to but I did kinda just butt into your convo... but now you can get back to her!" She playfully poked him in the arm. Then she gave him a goodbye hug. She darted towards Brooke, grabbing her wrist. She then dragged her over to Tyler, grabbing his wrist. She continued towards the dance floor, dragging both of them along. "You two. Dance. Well, I'm on a mission now. Oh by the way, my name is Angle. See you later alligators!"
Brooke gasped, choking down a scream when a hand grabbed her wrist. She saw that it was a cute little girl dragging her along. She calmed down a little because this stranger looked harmless in her pink dress. Everything was a blur until she was standing in front of Tyler. Brooke looked around, puzzled about what just happened. Then the little girl named Angel gave her instructions. 'She's soooooooo cute!!!!!' she thought silently. She didn't really listen to what Angle was saying but nodded happily. "Hi I'm Brooke!" she greeted, but she then found the little girl walking away. "Oh...uh ok BYEEE ANGEL!" she shouted somewhat lamely.

"Right." Tyler muttered in an unconvinced tone. He grinned crookedly, as Black lead him to the dance floor. A sudden memory bombarded his brain, clogging up his thoughts. He was suddenly back 10 years, when he was 6, dancing with a girl who he hated now. Her dark braids bounced, and they both laughed stupidly as they clumsily went in circles. As suddenly as the memory surged, it receded, and Tyler was once again bobbing to the beat with masses of people and Black."You're stepping on my toes." He told Black, for lack of anything to say. He actually wasn't sure who was stepping on his toes. Before he could hear Black's response, he felt himself being dragged away by a surprisingly strong, little girl. He looked at her in bewilderment, taking in the dark curls, delicate features, and pink dress. He voiced a rude comment that got drowned out by the loud bass of the music. Angel lead Tyler so that he stood in front of a familiar figure, Brooke Jensen. With that, Angel left, with Tyler awkwardly standing in front of Brooke. "Did she just tell us to dance?" He asked, shouting over the music.

Brooke nodded at Tyler, who she wanted to loath. She started dancing with him silently, wanting to inquire him. She felt weird dancing with an enemy but didn't want to disobey Angel. The silence went on for about a minute, but then she took his hand abruptly as if grasping it wouldn't allow him to avoid her question "What are you up to?" It didnt have the tone of a question, but of a demand. She looked him straight in the eyes. Everything around them seemed to slows and blur, her concentration on Tyler. His song was disguised well, but she could hear the dissonant notes. There was a seemingly casual tune used as a facade for the clandestine song behind it. It was quite faint, but detectable.
Kerri avoided Evan's eye contact, only glancing at him from time to time. She felt like she did something wrong, like she wasn't really welcome. "I've been....well. You?" Something seemed odd. He wasn't as she remembered. There was something definitely wrong, but she was afraid to ask or accuse. She attempted to play it cool. She coughed in the secondhand smoke, unsure where it came from.
As Angel left the two, she hummed the tune 'matchmaker'. She then felt a deluge of exhaustion. She went over to the wall and leaned on it, sipping a plastic cup filled with punch. When she finished it, she regained some energy and walked back to the dance floor. "that sugar cookie must have had looooaaaads of sugar"she muttered to herself.

Tyler saw the same flash of hate that Kao and Fivel had looked at him with, mirrored in Brooke's eyes. "What are you up to?" She demanded to know. Tyler grinned, looking very much like a wolf. He answered without missing a beat."To be honest, the usual cliche dance stuff, since this is no fun. Spiking the punch, rigging the prom queen box, cashing in loads of cash." There was a definite teasing tone in his voice. He was aware of the fact that Brooke was trying to read his song and emotions. And the fact that, if he wanted to, he could easily sap her life away without her feeling a thing. But he twirled her instead, bidding his time.

(ugh sorry I'm so behind on posting. My World History teacher is a retard, giving us project after project after project... April: April calmed down when Jimmy grabbed her wrists. "Sorry." she murmured, "I didn't mean to embarrass you." Her face turned pink as she looked into his eyes too. After a moment she gave him a swift kiss and asked,"Well, would you like to dance? They have a dance floor, and it wouldn't be called a Homecoming Dance without some dancing!" She pulled him onto the floor. Once she reached a free space she swayed/danced in time to the music. She wasn't much of a dancer, but at least she wasn't doing the chicken dance or anything.(I apologize for how horribly unromantic April is... ) Rekees: Rekees returned the hug happily, but blushed when Angel gave her permission to date Sheer, "Oh, um, thank you." she stammered, looking down at her feet in embarrassment. As Angel dragged Sheer away, she waved, smiling, and said in a soft voice, "Bye Sheer! Bye Angel! You two have fun!" However, she frowned sadly when they disappeared. Not really knowing what to do next, she wandered aimlessly around the ballroom, not daring to get onto the dance floor.

"Why?" Brooke pleaded. She could never get why people had to be so....evil. She shuddered inwardly, allowing him to twirl her. She looked into Tyler's eyes with her blue eyes big and innocent. Tyler was the headmistress's son! He should be loyal to his own mother. Haku was more loyal than Tyler. Her mind was just distraught. "you don't have to misbehave to be happy...." she muttered under her breath. Her shoulders slumped slightly and she walked away from Tyler, trying to clear her head of that dreadful song.
Headmistress Hastings eyes passed over the crowd, stopping at Tyler. Her heart sank to her stomach. She didn't understand her own son. Even worse, neither of them made the effort to understand each other. She saw him dancing with Brooke. 'ahhh....Brooke.... Music abilities. Very unique power. Music could also absorb wounds as well as she could give them, although she isn't aware of that yet....' the headmistress classified silently. 'sweet girl......' She began to get hopeful that maybe the girl would alter her son's ways. Her heart sank all the way to the ground when Brooke walked away. Her knees suddenly wobbled, so she took a chair, drained of, not energy, but spirit.

Juliet
Juliet sighs. "Call it uniting for a common cause. Now get the heck up." She starts pulling him towards the door. It's not hard, thanks to her ever-useful gift, but she's afraid that he'll transform or something before they get out. She tightens her grip on his, just in case. It's easy to remember how it had felt when something like this had happened to her, it was easily the worst thing in the world.
Evan
(waterfall, Evan's the one smoking ^^ sorry if that wasn't clear)
"Uh... um. I'm not sure." He mumbles, his green eyes darting around nervously. His fingers brush over something that's in his pocket but they don't linger there for more than a moment. Fivel and Kao aren't here yet... so it's not time. "I've just been in the city, thinking. It was a nice break." Evan smiles, though he looks anything but happy and refreshed. "So, Kerri, I've got time to waste, want something to drink?"
Robin - 30 minutes ago (flashback)
Robin glances around nervously before slipping a small vile of grayish liquid out of a pocket in her dress. Moving quickly, she unscrews it and pours some of it in a glass of soda. It's lucky that the chemicals in the soda won't dilute or damage the poison, otherwise she would have had to find some water or something as a substitute.
"Robin!" A voice says behind her, so loud that she practically jumps out of her skin.
"Sheer!" She gasps, accidentally letting rest of the contents of the vial pour into the soda. Robin feels slightly sick, the entire vial is way to much, even for Sheer.
Her friend laughs. "They call me that. Our names have the same number of letters in them, have you noticed? It's kind of weird."
She forces herself to smile. "No, I hadn't. Have you gotten to dance with Rekees?"
"Not yet, haven't seen her. What about you and that vampire?"
"Same." Her fingers tighten around the glass. She'd never imagined that she'd be able to do something like this. Some small part of her is screaming, repeating 'but I'm a good person...' over and over again in endless warped circles. Robin reminds herself that good people don't break promises. There's no choice, really.
"Robin? You're crying, are you okay?" Sheer asks, peering closely at her. Robin's eyes widen; he's really close.
(well... cliffhanger.... Oh, since this was a flashback just let it alone, pretend your characters don't see them. I'll write the second part tomorrow, it's to long for one post.)

Alucard
Alucard felt a slight tingle travel the length of his spine the moment Robin's warm hand gently slipped into his cool palm. The difference between their body temperatures was quite obvious, and Alucard could only smile apologetically. He silently lamented about forgetting to put his gloves on. With his other hand, Alucard stuffed his mask in one of the inner pockets of his coat, and once it disappeared, he softly wrapped his fingers around Robin's and led her out to the center of the room, where most of the dancers had congregated.
It looked like a scene from a movie. Masqueraders in sharp suits and pretty dresses, some with faces hidden behind colorful masks. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Alucard could recall Liszt's Danse Macabre, or Dance of Death. It would be an appropriate music choice for this occasion, with the composition's macabre and whimsical tones. He could also sense nostalgia, which he guessed came from Vlad's shared memories. How extravagent those parties must have been.
Focusing back on the present, Alucard realized the pace of the current song was moderate. Not slow, but not too fast either. Inwardly, he winced. Free-form dancing was to him what walking on land was to waterfowl: it was awkward and funny-looking. I'm just going to have to make a fool of myself, he thought.
Alucard smiled again, looking somewhat bashful. "I can't free-form dance," he admitted, "Its retarded looking. But I'd like to try anyway. How about you lead, and whatever you do, I'll mirror it. Is that alright?" he asked, laughing at himself inside. Oh, how embarrassing.

Tyler rolled his eyes. "Goody-two shoes." He muttered under his breath. Even though he was mocking Brooke, he felt a faint stab of guilt when her clear blue eyes stared at him in question. He, irritated at himself, ran a hand through his hair. He usually easily shrugged the guilt away, as if he were just changing jackets. So why was he starting to feel guilty now? I need to stay concentrated, he told himself. I need a distraction. He gritted his teeth as he searched the crowds for Black. As he was looking, he caught glimpse of his mother. Wordlessly, he started to approach her. He sat down in the chair next to her, and smiled. "Hey Mom." He said.

Tiffany Tiffany recieved Radu's telepathic message and was instantly reminded of why she had attended the dance in the first place. She stood on her tip toes and peered over the crowd. Alright. she thought back. Where are you, exactly? A flutter of excitement lit up inside her as she thought of him. She couldn't wait to see him.
Haku A layer of disbelief layered his stomach upon watching Juliet insist on helping him, unaiding his already lurching stomach. Another shot of black blood shot from his mouth and onto the floor, worsening his condition. Black blood.. he thought. Flock. Somehow she's used the soundwaves needed to revive the forgotten leftovers. But how..? Impossible. Another lurch hit him and he could barely contain a cry. He staggered up, holding his middle, knocking into one of the walls. Another lurch, and he slid down it, crumpled in a heap. "....."He couldn't even mutter a sorry, or a simple grunt as he felt the familiar warm feeling of dread hit him. Lightheaded-ness banged in his head like a drum, and it echoed there.
