Evan walks onto the roof and just sits down right in the middle of it. He'd spent today with Evan and Fivel... again. Frustrated beyond his wits end he had come up to try and get himself to think rationally. Kao... his Kao had been... he'd practically fallen in love with Fivel! The blond twin grits his teeth and forces himself to calm down. When he finally manages it he realizes that he's almost at the point of crying. How can this be?" He thinks, miserable.
(sorry, it's short.)

Kerri stared out into the scenery atop the rooftop, a light breeze playing with her platinum blonde hair. Suddenly, a door opened and a guy sat in the middle of the roof. She turned, somewhat startled at the sudden intrusion. She usually sat alone on the roof, in solitude. He was a blonde, good-looking person, and it wasn't a surprise that he didn't notice her. She was used to it, but something about this guy seemed troubling, like he was upset. She battled out the choices of her next actions; to introduce herself, or to turn invisible and mind her own business. The friendly choice took this victory. She summoned her courage, not used to talking to people and thinking that maybe she would make her first friend in the next few moments. "Uhmmm.....errr......hi..." she managed to stutter to the blonde stranger.
(It's fine, a lot of my posts are that length, or even shorter)

Evan turns and looks at Kerri, a bit shocked to see that he isn't the only person in the roof. His face goes a bit read and he searches for words, not used to talking to people besides Kao. "Oh... um... hi?" He frowns, wondering what on earth is wrong with him.He looks up and down at the pretty girl, trying to remember if he'd seen her somewhere. If she's a new student... shouldn't he welcome her or something? Being a Havens kid, he's kind of new himself, so maybe he's not in a position to welcome someone. He bites his lip and gets up, because he hates yelling at people from far away, and walks over to her. "I'm Evan. The... ah, younger twin. Who are you?" To late he realizes that 'what's your name?' might have been a better way to ask but it would be weird for him to repeat the question even if he phrased it differently. A bit uncomfortable, he scratches his shoulder then shoves his hands in his pocket.

Kerri smiles, sensing his unease. Her timid nature was slightly at ease, knowing that she wasn't the only one that was nervous. "Hi Evan, I'm Kerri. I'm a sophomore." She wasn't really sure how to spark up a conversation. She concluded in asking him questions, let him do he talking. "So you're a twin? That's really cool." She sat down next to him, not too close. She still wasn't used to socializing. "So...are you new? What's your gift?" She stared out into the distance, not ready to actually look at Evan in the eyes.

Evan looks at Kerri out of the corner of his eyes and blows a piece of blond hair out of his face. Somehow, she seems to be almost less at ease than him, which is a bit comforting. "Yeah, I'm a twin, I'm from Havens, so I guess I'm new, and my gift is that I can manipulate water and air. Now you're turn. What about you?"

Kerri fiddled with her hair awkwardly, continuing to avoid eye-contact. "I've been at this school for a while, it's my second year here. It's been quite boring, me being invisible and all. That's one of my gifts, invisibility, but I'm invisible otherwise." She sounded sort of depressing and she hated herself for saying that, but it was true. She shook her head, "I'm sorry....I'm babbling.... My other gift is manipulating force fields." She felt pathetic, sitting there silently as her face turned red.

Evan sits down next to her, reasoning that it's alright because standing like that is to awkward. "You don't look invisible." He says mildly, gently poking her in the arm. "So you're like Violet? From the Incredibles?" He and Kao had dedicated a lot of time to seeing all of the newest movies back before Havens. Thinking about it makes him kind of sad, but he tries to keep focused on the conversation.

Kerri was genuinely shocked by his remark. So shocked, she turned to look at him, to see if he was joking. She found herself looking into honest brown eyes. She felt herself turning red again, so she turned away quickly and her hands shot up to her face. Her hands felt her cheeks getting warmer and warmer. She squeezed her eyes shut, embarrassed. Despite her awkwardness, she laughed easily at his Violet comment. "A lot like Violet actually. I loved that movie" She only hoped that she would have a happy ending like Violet, who eventually got the guy of her dreams. Feeling her cheeks cool down, she rested her hands down on her bent knees. She turned towards Evan slowly, and smiled. He was the first person who had actually made her laugh in a long time, much less talk.

Evan stares at her for a moment, wondering if he'd done something horribly wrong. Was it bad to touch peoples arms like that? Did she not like him touching her, even a little bit like that? Thinking back, he'd never touched someone's skin if he could help it. Weird. Despite himself, he smiles at what she says next.
"I saw that opening night with my brother. We waited for an hour in line for a movie we hadn't even seen the preview for because we were bored to death. It turned out to be really good." He can't remember what they'd been doing out at eleven, but they'd seen the lines and decided that there was nothing better to do. And the movie poster had looked cool. He shrugs, thinking that she must think he's a dork.

Kerri's smile widened, "That's awesome." She remembered watching that movie many many times, pretending to be Violet as a little girl. She missed those times, and wanted to rewatch the Incredibles once more. She stared out into the sky, watching the clouds turn pink as the sun sets on the horizon. "The sunset is beautiful....isn't it?" She always loved the view on the roof, and it was even better sharing it with someone else.

Evan looks at the clouds, thinking about how cool it would have been if he got the power he'd always wanted. He isn't upset with the elemental powers he has now, but he would have been much happier if he had some kind of power that let him fly. His wind affinity wasn't strong enough for him to do that yet, and the waiting and training irritates him. "Huh? The sunset?" He asks, looking at it indirectly. "Yeah, you're right, it's nice."

Kerri looked at him once more, sensing something was wrong. Another thing that was off was the silence...the awkward rate slowly rose higher and higher. She decided to ask about his twin. "so.....tell me about your twin? How well do u get a long? What are his powers? Things like that..." she asked curiously, wondering what it was like to have a twin.

Evan glances at her, wondering if she really wants to hear a speech about someone she's probably not met. He bites his lip, indecisive for a moment. She had asked... "His name's Kao, people don't know this, but it's short for Kaona. My parents were weird about names." He laughs, but not in a mean way. "We get along perfectly, it's not usual for us to not be together, like today. But he's with Fivel so I made myself scarce. His power is fire and earth manipulations, so together we've got all four elements. Um... when we're together no one can tell us apart. We talk to each other and say the same things so sometimes we're so in-sync that people just treat us like one person. But he's always been the stronger one..." He breaks off and laughs at himself, realizing that he must have said to much. If he keeps talking she'll get the wrong idea and think he's in love with Kao or something. Haha... how funny.

Kerri admired how Evan admired Kao. "that's really cool" she said. "I sort of want to see you two together, maybe I can tell you two apart." she shot him a slit smirk. "I bet you two are equally strong too...so... Is Fivel your brother's girlfriend?" She didn't really care about his brother's girlfriend much at all. She only wanted to keep the conversation going.

Evan laughs. "No one can, but you can try any time you want. Just let us know so we can plan ahead and dress identically." He smirks, remembering when they used to trick people into getting confused. "I dunno about stronger..." He stops talking and almost chokes. Girlfriend? "Oh, no. Kao doesn't date girls." He says quickly.
