Damion Hugh
"I fly like paper, get high like planes."
it's all about me.
LIKES. Being with his best friend, Naire, listening to music, art class.
DISLIKES. His parents always fighting, his mom not giving a crap about life, trying to manage a job while balancing school.
STRENGTHS. Always tries to put effort into whatever he does, is generally good at getting a job done, and speaks his mind occasionally.
WEAKNESSES. Isn't honest all the time, likes to keep to himself [save for Naire], and isn't really a people person [feels awkward around others].
HABITS/QUIRKS. Listens to his iPod during class but is somehow able to fully understand the course material.
FEARS. That he'll never be able to break out of his 'shell'.
SECRETS. Smokes illegal substances.
FULL PERSONALITY. Damion is what some would consider a loner. He doesn't quite trust others and likes to keep to himself, but if he has to, he can work with others and cooperate just fine. Except when he's at work, or if he's high, Damion doesn't say much. The only person he will openly talk to is Naire. Besides this, Damion is likeable for the ability to complete any task he sets his mind to, and has down-to-earth opinions and views.

FULL HISTORY. As a child, Damion had a fairly standard life. Loving parents, good friends, you name it. He was attending the third grade at a public school when his gift manifested. During recess, several other kids as well as Damion himself noticed that unusual thin, monochromatic wires trailing from his fingertips. It was shrugged off as some sort of trick.
To prove it wasn't a trick, the class bully threw a pencil at Damion while the teacher had stepped out of the classroom. Without knowing what would happen, Damion raised his hand and used the wires to cut the pencil in half. The teacher was notified and he was sent home. His parents were forced to tell him that they knew he had a gift; they just didn't know it would develop at his age. Damion started to grow distant from his parents, as he was angry at them for never mentioning anything.
Things grew worse. His parents fought about what sort of education he should have, and the fact that he seemed depressed. They eventually got a divorce, and Damion stayed with his mother. For a while, things went alright, until his mother started seeing other men and spending the money they had on alcohol. Damion who, at the time, was attending a public high school, had no other choice than to apply for a job to help pay for the bills and groceries. There he and his mom had a conflict because she'd steal his money to continue buying alcohol or make him buy things they didn't need.
After a while, when Damion was going through a rough patch, an old friend introduced him to marijuana, and he soon got addicted. His mother didn't care; she was never sober enough to know what was going on. Teachers began to notice Damion's grades drop and were concerned (he used to get all A's on his report cards). They were also concerned about his behavior; he'd always get ISA or suspended for fighting. Eventually, Damion came clean and told the principal he could no longer attend the school because he was a "gifted" student.
Seeing this as an opportunity to put Damion in an environment where he'd be better accepted, the principal had him transferred to Castle. There, he met his best friend, Naire Poole.

ANYTHING ELSE. Yeah. Just in case, Damion's last name is pronounced 'hue-guh', he's 18, and works at a restuarant called The Grill.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE. Damion Hugh watched the assembly of the Havens students as they gathered in the Great Hall. He sighed, leaning back against one of the walls. There had been so much death in that fire, and he knew many of the survivors were experiencing great loss. They had nowhere else to go but here. The grief was as tangible as fog; it was like a presence hanging over them like some dark, foreboding cloud.
