AGE AND GRADE. twenty five, english teacher.
GENDER. female.
LOOKS. as you can see from the picture above, hero is quite pretty, if not beautiful. she is often complimented on her looks, sometimes by complete strangers. she has soft, wavy ginger hair, that falls to her shoulders with a side fringe. hero often ties her hair back into a messy ponytail, but just lets it hang at her shoulders. another focus of her pretty face are her large chestnut eyes, giving her the slight appearance of the infamous bambi. she weighs in at 116lb, and is 5'4" in height. her clothing style varies, she favours pencil skirts and soft shirts, but often wears dresses, even if she does attract some unwanted attention. hero tends to be pretty healthy, avoiding junk food... she prefers salads and fruit. she also tends to count calories, which she knows isn't really the best thing to do but she does it anyway.
LIKES. one of hero's favourite things to do is relax. she definitely isn't a slacker, and keeps a tight schedule, but at the end of the day she loves to just unwind and take some 'me' time. she also loves her job, and feels that a day at work is worthwhile if she can at least teach one kid something. because deep down, she knows that even if they don't realise it now, the kids are gonna be using the skills she teaches them in later life. maybe deliberately, maybe subconsciously, but either way they're still there. unsurprisingly, hero loves to write stories and poems. the creative side of the subject of english literacy is her favourite, she can just sit down and write to her heart's content for hours on end. after all, she feels that everybody needs some kind of creative outlet. sometimes she even writes her own songs, because hero has a secret love of singing. all around school, and when she's teaching, she seems confident and happy, but when she sings, she isn't amazingly confident in her voice and gets shy if people ask to hear her. she also loves to cook. over the years, hero has become a fantastic baker, with the ability to make pizzas, cakes, biscuits and even pies from scratch. she usually doesn't even taste what she bakes, deeming it all too unhealthy. speaking of health, hero takes pride in her perfect health, and refuses to go anywhere near chocolate or cake (unless she's baking).
DISLIKES. now, hero isn't exactly a hater, but there are some things she simply can't stand. some things things really just irk her. and one of those things is her family. hero simply can't stand them, because of the way she was treated at a young age. from the age of three, hero had been able to hear people's voices inside her mind, and when she was a little older she worked out they were the thoughts of the people around her. she was eleven when she finally told her parents and her older brother, and she was instantly deemed to be insane, thus was sent away to a mental asylum and locked away until she was eighteen. as a result hero has developed a fear of hospitals. she even keeps away from the nurse's office unless she really has to. if shes ill, hero takes care of herself. but if she's injured, hero tries to battle through it but ends up being dragged there against her own will. she does know the importance of taking an injured kid there, though. another thing hero hates is bullying. she simply can't tolerate it. before she was sent away, hero was always bullied for her bright ginger hair. ginger, goldfish, carrot top, marmalade, devil spawn... you name it, she's probably been called that at some point in her life. so now, whenever she hears someone being horrible to someone else, or thinking something mean about someone else, she takes the person aside and has a good scream at them. speaking of screaming... hero can't stand horror movies. she hates them. when she watched 'the shining' a few years back, she spent the whole film screaming until her throat was raw. she was so scared, she couldn't even turn off the tv...
STRENGTHS. hero is, in many aspects, an extremely strong woman. for starters, she isn't afraid to make her voice heard. so, for example, if there was a discussion between the faculty at the school and she didn't agree on something, she would argue valiantly to get her point across to everybody else. she's pretty feisty when she wants to be, so she certainly doesn't need anybody to stick up for her. hero is also not the type to dwell on things, because she knows that if she does she'll only depress herself. she manages to successfully hide her feelings around the kids if she's upset or scared about something, and just likes to reassure people, even if she feels uncertain about something herself.
WEAKNESSES. despite her smiley, happy, yet calm demeanour... hero has a lot of personal weaknesses that rarely see the light of day. she is still somewhat disturbed after being in an asylum for seven years. every so often she has terrifying nightmares, often waking up screaming or crying, in a cold sweat. as much as she hates to dwell on things, hero struggles to let it go, and for this reason she will hate her family forever. hero can also get quite pessimistic when she wants to be. usually not in school time, just when she's alone, mostly. but one of her largest weaknesses? her power. sure, most people would think it'd be great to read people's minds... but it's not. hero's power means that she can read people's minds... but she can always hear their thoughts. always, no matter whether she wants to or not, they're always there.
HABITS/QUIRKS. hero has a few various habits of quirks, some are more noticable than others, and some she detests more than others. as previously mentioned, she is an avid writer, and her desk is covered in various battered notebooks and dog-eared loose pieces of paper with hastily scribbled writing all over them. that's the problem - sometimes she just gets her ideas so quickly she can't write them down in time. she also tends to be a bit of a pessimist. if something seems bad, it's a nightmare to her, so she just shuts down and gives up on it completely. this can be quite problematic if she's dealing with a misbehaving student, because if it goes to far she just loses it and has to walk away, leaving someone else to deal with it.
FEARS. believe it or not, hero's a regular scaredy cat, so she isn't much of a hero, or a heroine in this case. who ever heard of a hero that's terrified of things that might not even exist? yep, didn't think so. one of the main things she's scared of are ghosts. when she was about four, hero's brother dressed up as a ghost for halloween and scared her half to death. ever since, she's had a massive phobia. even if someone mentions ghosts she develops a cold sweat and practically has a panic attack. she is also terrified of bugs, even innocent butterflies and ladybirds.
SECRETS. really, her main secret is her past. she hates to talk about it, so she never does. it just remains a secret to most people. if someone asks her about it, she either brushes it off, changes the subject, or just says 'pretty much a normal childhood', with pretty much being the operative words. also - whenever she reads someone's mind, she often finds a lot of deep, personal, and often shocking secrets about the person and other people too. obviously she doesn't tell anyone about them, not even the person whose mind she read, and just confines them to herself. other than those, she doesn't actually have any particularly juicy secrets.
FULL PERSONALITY. as far as her personality goes, hero seems to have a slightly odd one. happy. disturbed. patient. impatient. many aspects of her personality run through the opposites, but in a way, that's what makes her an interesting person. [/font]
