Nove had followed Kao in, and had heard Fivel's remark. "What buisness could you have under a table?!" he replied. Way to be considerate, Kao. he thought.

Kao glances back at everyone who's crowding into the room. "Do you mind... uh, leaving?" He asks as politely as he can before sitting down next to Fivel. "Don't worry, try this." As gently as he can he removes her hands from her ears and puts the earbuds of his headphones in and turns on a song. He puts an arm around her, hoping that this is more or less something that will make her feel better.

Fivel said Kao's name, but the tail end was lost in a clash of thunder. She shivered, but her fear was soon lost in music waves. Fivel leaned her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. "Kao.." she said. "Kao, I'm sorry. I shouldn't've ran away. I just.." She trailed off as she waited for an answer.

Kao hugs her tighter, secretly wondering why she smells so nice. "Running away... you don't need to apologize to me for something like that. I'm not mad, I don't blame you. Just.... I'll do my best to protect you so you don't have to run." He promises. If he was Evan he'd probably be able to make the thunder go away, or if he was stronger he could control the lightning. He half closes his eyes, upset that he can't help her any more than this.

Brooke pouted, upset that Kao had given his headphones to Fivel before she could herself. She also disliked Kao's suggestion to leave, so she stayed put, holding Fivel's hand. She silently glared at Kao for thinking that she would leave this girl, who's practically her sister, alone in her time of need. Thinking of some way to block out the thunder and lightning, she suddenly remembered her powers. She had forgotten about her gifts in the stress and worry. Brooke was about to yank Kao's headphones, but decided not to. He also wanted the best for Fivel and to protect her. She sighed and closed her eyes, listening to the music that played in his headphones. Focusing on loud soothing music, she hummed a melody that formed in her mind, which was now chorusing into Fivel's ears through the headphones. Flinching at each combo of lightning and thunder, she continued to morph the notes that Fivel heard, into loud, but calming music.

Fivel squeezed Brooke's hand and listened to the music a minute longer. "You know.." she said. "I've always sort of been.. by myself." Her tears were gone, but she still had bits of rain on her eyelashes.

Kao grits his teeth, focusing on looking at Fivel's knee instead of at Brooke. Even though he knows he's supposed to be happy with whatever helps Fivel he can't help but feel frustrated. I wanted to be alone with her. I wanted to be the one to help her. He thinks, feeling irritation and anger swirling around him like some kind of black heavy cloud. Don't drown out my music! I chose it for her! He hears Fivel say something and that kind of makes him snap out of it, just a little bit. He runs a hand through her hair, trying to comfort her. "Now you're not." He says simply, hoping that it's the right thing to say.
(he's got jealousy issues, don't take it personally or anything ^^)

Brooke squeezed Fivel's hand harder as tears started to well up inher eyes. " that's right.... You never have to be alone again." she said in a melodic voice. (LoL I get it, Brooke has jealousy issues too ^^ she likes to be the center of attention  so don't take her snaps personally either haha) |
