"Really? Alright." Kao strips off his shirt and shoes, realizing that it's a bit last minute but it will still help him. That and he doesn't want them to get burnt. He steps foreword with his left foot and swings his right leg around at Nove in a crescent kick. In the same motion, he shifts his weight to his right foot the moment it comes down and uses the momentum to complete a full turn and kick out his left leg to finish the double crescent kick.

Fivel pulled her knees up near her chin. "I'm still not sure this is a good idea." She couldn't help but stare at Kao.

Nove ducked at the first kick and caught the last one. "Hmm." he said. "I guess I should've told you I study martial arts. It's not fair enough." he replied. He, too, tore off his shirt with one hand. Then he felt the flame rush up to his palms to burn Kao's ankle.

Kao looks at Nove and rolls his eyes. 'I study martial arts to, you idiot. Where do you think I learned this?" He flicks the fingers on his right hand up and pulls the flames away from his foot. He leans foreword onto the leg Nove caught and aims a left uppercut at Nove's jaw. As he does that he looks sideways at Fivel and feels happy that she's watching him.

Nove took the blow, pulling away from Kao and grimmacing in concentration. "I see you can kick." he replied. "But can you use your powers?" Nove snapped his arms together in front of him, clapping his palms together. A wall of fire exploded from his fingertips, sailing towards Kao.

"'Course I can. I survived Havens, didn't I?" He performs another hand flick and the wall of fire turns into what looks a bit like a snake. Kao points both hands at the snake and causes to make a u-turn and rush back at Nove. "It's cool how you can make such a big show out of your power. I'm more subtle so I don't do flashy stuff to often."

Nove pushed the snake to the side, its flame bursting into a smoke puff. "Well," he laughed. "Being subtle can make you a wall flower." He spread open his arms, a pheniox flaming to life. It perched over him, waiting.

Kao makes a snorting sound. "Incorrect. Being subtle means that it's easier to trick the opponent." He mimics Nove's gesture and the earth behind him splits open and a huge dragon made of blue flames erupts from the ground. At the same time he causes the grass around Nove's feet to start growing rapidly and wrap itself around his legs. Kao had realized that a battle using just fire would not end quickly so that idea was out. If this goes the way he plans, Nove should give up without actually being hurt. That should make Fivel happy...

Brooke sat up, staring at the guys in awe. Watching the flames dance, feeling that Kao was somehow holding back. "You know...." Brooke shouted "any harm done, I can heal....if you guys fight like this, I feel like it well keep going back and forth. You guys are equally powerful from what I see, even though your techniques are opposite." Brooke smiled, wondering what was coming up next. She then pondered about what was going on in Fivel's mind, they were fighting for her after all. She took a moment to listen to Fivel's song but she couldn't really comprehend anything in particular besides admiration and maybe worry...

Fivel nodded but stared at Nove. He didn't seem like the type to give up. But niether was Kao, if it came down to it. She glanced overhead at the clouds forming in the sky. "Big idiots." she replied. She nervously moved towards Samie and behind Brooke. (Fivel:  )

Nove's pheonix cried out a battle scream, and shot towards the dragon. He burned away the grass at his feet. This is going to be harder than I thought. He thought. Still. Nove glanced over at Fivel, barely visible over her friends' heads. She's worth it.

"Oh crap," Samie muttered, putting up a transparent shield of shadows, just in case. She didn't want her friends or her getting burned.

Kao points at the phoenix and the dragon behind him lunges foreword to meet the bird. It wraps it's coils tightly around it's wings, trying to trap it. Meanwhile, Kao uses his earth element to burrow beneath the fight and comes out behind Nove. He aims an elbow towards Nove's head and in case that doesn't hit he wraps his other arm around Nove's throat in a choak hold, all the while tightening the grass's hold on Nove's legs.

Brooke shook her head and let out a small giggle, realising that Fivel had only just met Nove, and he was fighting for her with all he had. "Do they not realise that, win or lose, it's really all up to Fivel?" she thought out loud. That's when it started to rain...
