Rekees walked back to her dorm after a long day. Well, a long class. Chemistry was something she just didn't understand, and the more she sat in that class the more confused she got. Sure, she had an A in the class. But it didn't matter if she didn't understand the material...right? Well, she would study her notes in the morning, she had to take a shower tonight. Luckily, she had cleaned up the cages for both her bunny, Truffle, and her bird, Sun. She pulled her keys out of her purse, unlocked her door, and entered. Sun was chirping loudly and Truffle was hopping around on the floor. When she spotted Rekees she jumped over to Rekees, her nose twitching. "Hello Truffle!" Kees stooped down and scooped up her pet in her arms. She carried Truffle over to her cage, placed her in gently, and closed the door. "No time to play right now, I'm afraid." Rekees walked over to Sun, opened the cage, and poured some food into the canary's little bowl. "I'll clean up your cage after I shower." After Rekees took a shower, she sat on her bed to brush her hair. As she pulled her comb through the wet strands of hair, she looked wistfully over to the other side of her room. There was an empty bed there, with no sign of life. Ever since Rekees's best friend Mara moved away, Rekees had been quite lonely in the empty dorm. Hopefully she would get a new roommate soon.

Kerri stumbled into her room in a sour mood. She had already settled into her room but, because of some mix up, she had to pack all of her things up and move into another room. She had her suitcase in one hand and her easel in another. The easel wasn't properly folded because she had already set it up in her former room so the first thing she did in her new-new room was throw her suitcase onto her bed and put her easel right next to it so she could comfortably sketch. She hopped up on her bed and let out a great big sigh, closing her eyes in attempt to calm down. When she opened her eyes, she saw a bunny, a bird, and a girl. Her face turned bright red. "Oh I'm so sorry, I mean, I didn't kno- i mean i didn't see yo- I-I-I'm Kerri.", she stuttered. She screamed at herself for sounding so dumb. She was never used to talking to people, or talking at all really. She peered at her roommate, hoping that she didn't think she was a total loon. She urgently wished that she could just turn back time to attempt a more graceful entrance. She fiddled with her platinum colored hair nervously.

Rekees froze, Sun perched on her finger, when she spotted a pretty girl suddenly walk into her dorm. She didn't speak, just watched the girl as she walked over to the empty bed and put down a suitcase and easel and sit down on the bed. The poor girl looked exhausted, and quite aggravated, so Rekees just stood there, watching the new girl with astonishment. "Umm, hello there. Can I help you?" Rekees asked, her voice full of curiosity and wonder. When the girl spoke, Rekees realized what was going on. "Oh, hello Kerri. my name is Rekees. I suppose we are room mates, then?" she s,lied sweetly and shyly, hoping that Kerri didn't think she was weird. Atlas, she got a new roommate. Hopefully they would be good friends, so Rekees wanted to make a good impression. "Oh, I do apologize for the mess. It's been quite a long day so I have been unable to tidy up. I must look like a mess, too. Oh dear, please excuse me." Kees stood, picked up the neat stack of clothes she had set out earlier for her to wear, and went into the bathroom. She changed grey quickly, and tidied herself up to look neater. After about a minute she walked back out of the bathroom smiling apologetically. She was wearing a short, pretty white dress, and her long black hair was put up in a side ponytail. Hopefully Kerri wouldn't find her rude for walking out like that, but it was better than continuing to wear her pajamas.

Kerri was wearing jeans and a T-shirt. She looked down at her attire, wondering if she should be as formal as Rekees. "Uhmm Hey. We're gonna be room mates, so we'll be spending a lot of time together. No need to be formal." She eyed her new room mate once more, and her shoulders slouched in slight relief. "Seems like you and I have a lot in common.... we are quite awkward socially." Kerri chuckled, hoping Rekees wouldn't take that comment offensively. She smiled at her new friend. She felt no reason to be her shy self in front of this person for some reason. She thought that it was more important to get to know her from the beginning. She hopped on her bed and gestured to Rekees to do the same. "Let's ask each other questions back and forth. Here, I'll go first. I ask you, you answer, then I answer the same question." She pondered for a moment, searching for an easy and simple question. She didn't want to pry into some deep dark secrets. "What is your favorite color?" Simple enough.

"Formal? Oh, er, this isn't my formal, this is what I normally wear." Rekees blushed as she looked down at her simple white dress. It didn't look too formal, did it? It was made out of wool, so it wasn't like a dance dress or anything. Maybe this was a sign that she needed to make a few adjustments to her wardrobe... When Kerri spoke again, she laughed quietly, "Yeah, I guess so!" Rekees could feel her shyness wearing off. Ever since her old friends had left, she had begun to get more and more shy. Hopefully Kerri's arrival would turn that around.
Rekees followed Kerri to her bed ad sat down, smiling. The proposition of the question game interested her so she nodded and listened to the question. Favorite color..."Light blue, I suppose. Baby blue."

Kerri smiled, "No, no your dress is really cute! I was just saying that pjs are fine..." She laughed. Kerri was actually really relieved that her room mate was this sweet girl. "I like light blue too, but my favorite is white." Kerri's hair was nearly white. She liked the concept that white was the absence of color. "Your turn." She anticipated Rekees's question silently.

"Oh,you think so? That's nice to know." Rekees replied, relieved that her clothes were O.K.. "Yeah, white is pretty too." she nodded in agreement before contemplating over her next question, "What do you like to do when you're bored?"

"I...I... Like to sketch.... " Kerri was sheepish when it came to her drawings. She didn't want to linger on the topic. "what about you?" She had never really revealed her hobby of drawing and it made her a little uncomfortable.

Rekees nodded, "I saw! You must be good at drawing." She thought for a moment, "I enjoy reading in my free time. Or walking around." she answered honestly. She had a small stack of books by her bed, including some of her favorite novels.
