"And.. done!"
Fivel let out a huge sigh of relief, pulling her sleeve back down over her wrist, where Winry had just finished injecting a quick shot of liquid pain medicine underneath Fivel's cast, which covered her wrist bone up to the area just below her elbow. Winry fixed the cast on her wrist and smiled at her. "Welcome back, Fivel." she said. "Are you glad to be back in your dorm? Its probably alot nicer than that ugly place under the nurse's office. Ugh. Its probably just crawling with germs."
Fivel gave Winry one of her classic, you're an idiot, looks. "I'm sure." she replied, playing with the soft blue bow that circled the end of her long sleeves that Winry had given her as a returning gift. Fivel had, at first, refused to accept it, as it looked so expensive, but Winry refused to take it back. Apparently Fivel looked cute in it, which made Fivel feel even more sick of it. But it was soft and warm, so Fivel wore it all the time. "Yeah. Its nice to be back in my own bed with some sort of control over the temperature in the room. And to be dry, and free of pain to a certain extent."
Winry laughed. "I'm sure." she said. "You know, Kao and Brooke came around a few times, but I had to shoo them away because you were asleep. Should I call them in now?"
Fivel nodded.

Brooke walked into the dorm she shared with Fivel and Samie, exhausted and cautious. She had taken a nap in Kerri's room, to give Fivel some time to herself. She nodded at Winry and looked at Fivel, about to cry. She was so relieved that it overwhelmed her. Fivel was back where she belonged, with her sisters. "I've missed you so much!" She sat next to Fivel and wrapped her arms around her ever so lightly, wary of her cripple arm. She released her friend and took a good look at her. She them smiled through her tears and pat her red head. "Don't you ever scare us like that again.... pinky swear!" Brooke held up her pinky, waiting for her sister to return the gesture.

Fivel's throat was dry as Brooke hugged her, weaving around her broken wrist. "Brooke," she said, tears in her eyes. "Brooke, I've missed you too.." she said, her voice barely scraping at being able to say anything, seeing as how her throat was like the Sahara.
Brooke fixed her with a hard but happy stare and offered her pinky to Fivel. "Don't ever scare us like that again. Pinky swear?"
Fivel laughed, and wrapped her pinky around her friend's. "Pinky swear." she said. "Unless the situation causes me to break this promise. And you have to be my slave for a week." Then she pulled away with a laugh.

Brooke grimaced for a second, but then giggled. "Deal" She then went from sister mode to mom mode. "Hey, you're sounding a little hoarse. Do you need some water?" Before letting Fivel reply she got up and said "I'm getting you some water." She left to go buy Fivel a water bottle "I'LL BE RIGHT BACK!!!!", she yelled going down the hall, "DON'T MOVE!!!" She sprinted down the stairs and towards a vending machine. She bought 2 bottles of water, and 2 bottles of Fivel's favorite soda, along with a soda for Brooke herself. She dashed back up stairs in about a minute and a half. "Sorry to keep you waiting. " She set the refreshments down on the bedside table. "I got a total of 4 drinks for you, cause I know you'll finish them all in like a milisecond", she teased. "I advise you to drink the two bottles of water first.... cause I ran up here in a rush, and the fizz in the sodas are probably having series spazz attacks...." She hopped back onto the bed by Fivel, handing her a bottle of water with a satisfied grin.

"Geez Brooke, you sound like her mother." Samie teased playfully as Brooke organized the bottles. She adjusted her dark brown ponytail before sitting herself carefully at the edge of Fivel's bed, a hard look in her slate blue eyes. "But seriously, Brooke's right. I had a mini heart attack before my cousin chased us out of the room." Samie scolded. "If anything like that happens again then you should tell us, we're your friends!"

April skipped down the halls with a plate of brownies she had made and a wrapped present. "Fivel, Fivel, welcome back!" she chirped as she swept into the room. She had just found out that Fivel was back, and she wanted to be the first to say "Welcome Home." Unfortunately, it seemed as though people had beat her to it. "Aww," she sulked, "I wanted to be the first person to welcome you home." She perked up, however. "Welcome back, Fivel!" she put down the plate of brownies and handed her a present she had wrapped herself. So it was pretty crappily wrapped. She had brought Fivel some books that April had always loved. Whenever April was upset, she had read these books and had instantly felt better. She hoped that this present would make Fivel as happy as they had made her. "Sorry, the presents are kinda worn. I couldn't buy copies of them anywhere else, so I had to give you my copies instead of getting you your own." She frowned, "I hope you don't mind."

Very slowly, Kao looks in through the door to see who's inside the room and then seems to realize that he can't leave after looking inside the room so he walks in. His reddish-blond hair is still dark and soaking wet with water from the shower he'd just taken. His green shirt is sticking to his body too, and it is covered with wet spots because he had forgotten to dry himself off with a towel before putting on the shirt. "Hey, Fivel." He says quietly. His eyes sweep the room, taking in all of the people, and then widen when he realizes that he's the only one who hasn't brought a present.
Even more slowly, he walks over to Fivel's bed and sits down on one end, so even though he's on the same bed as her he's about a foot away. "I didn't know what to get you, for a present." He says without looking at her. "So..." With one hand he pulls a bundle of twenties out of his pocket, all the bills folded in on themselves, and drops it in her lap. "Three hundred dollars, I guess that should be enough for something nice. Sorry." He clenches his teeth, hating himself for not being able to be so happy like everyone else and for not getting her a proper gift.
He feels his skin burn as he remembers only a few hours ago, kissing her and being sure that it was the right thing to do. How on earth had he ever thought that it was right to be able to kiss her? That was an extremely messed up way of thinking, with Evan gone, he shouldn't be thinking of anything but finding his lost brother. He'd decided long ago that he'd always protect Evan, so why is he not protecting him and letting him wander around like he isn't worth the trouble? Besides all that, what if Fivel hadn't wanted him to kiss her? He had just assumed that she'd be okay with it, but honestly, he doesn't know half of what she's thinking. Five percent... five percent of what she's thinking would be a miracle, he'd be happy with a miracle like that.
He sighs, and lets his gaze float up from the floor to rest on Fivel. His hair is in the way, it's always in the way, but Evan isn't around to cut it. Kao pushes it back out of his face and decides that he shouldn't say anything. Saying words will probably just get him into trouble, he should just never say anything and wait for the world to figure itself out. That way, he can't sink any lower and then none of all these problems will be his fault anymore... Lost in thought, he shakes his head. That's a stupid idea. Even after sleeping, his thoughts are still a mess.
(Um, sorry for the depressing ramble post. Kao just isn't sure if Fivel likes him or not and he's so much of an idiot that he's making it into a really big deal)

Fivel laughed with surprise as Samie and April bounced into her room. She thanked Brooke and took a swig of her water bottle and graciously took April's gift. "Thank you," she said with that little grin she barely ever showed. "I appreciate it."
Within a second swig she'd finished her first bottle, she'd moved onto her second, silently stalling for time to think without speaking. I wonder if Kao will come, she thought. In fact, she actually really hoped that he would. She was just to shy to admit it. Whenever she looked at him, she just felt.. warm inside. As if someone was wrapping their arms around her insides. And it just felt right. But there was still a slight edge of weariness when she thought of him, and as she thought of it longer, she recognized it as her growing fear of Evan. If he's so controlling as to offer her up as a pawn for Flock, who knows what else he may decide to do to seperate Kao and she? It ate at her like acid, and slowly she grasped the blanket that lay over her with her good hand, otherwise the one without the cast.
Winry leaned on the doorframe while fixing a slight shaft in one of her needles, which she'd set down too hard. She saw Kao enter in the corner of her eye, and couldn't help but smile. Fivel and Kao together always made her smile.
"Hey, Fivel."
Fivel glanced up, halfway through a swig of her first bottle of Dr. Pepper. Her cheeks grew red at the sight of Kao, and the warm feeling spread out inside of her. Her eyes lit up ever so slightly. "Hi, Kao." she replied, her voice completely consistant. It did not break, waiver, or fade at the end of her sentence. Her stomach rippled with nervousness on what to say.
He, however, seemed completely calm as he sat on the foot of her bed. Though Fivel noticed the etch of distraught in his blue eyes. As he handed her the parcel of the money, her green eyes went huge with surprise. "Th-three hundred?" she repeated. She'd never had so much in her posession before, and just holding it was strange to her. " Th- thanks. Do.. do rich people carry three hundred people carry three hundred dollars around everyday?"
She wanted to speak to Brooke, but didn't have the heart to tell everyone else to leave. Kao looked completely distracted, and it made her stomach ripple with even more uneasiness.
Winry set her needle down. She wasn't the only one who felt the strange air in the room all of a sudden, right? In her head she'd had a much more happy, cute reunion of Kao and Fivel, but this one just fell flat nearly completely. Winry sighed. "I didn't know what to get you either." she said. "So I just got you this," She handed Fivel a small pouch. Fivel examined it. "Um.." she said. "I don't mean to be rude or anything, but what's this?"
Winry patted Fivel's back. "I figured your muscles would be all tense from being down under the school all the time," she said. "So I got you this. Its a bath set, for bad backs and aches and stuff. It also smells really good, so I figured you'd like it. Oh, also, it has green tea in it, which is great for your skin."
Fivel blinked. "In such a small container, it does all that?" she asked, setting it next to her while sipping from her soda. "Cool. Thanks, Winry."

Brooke stared at Fivel silently. She had an urgent need to have one of the famous sisterly talks with Fivel, that many times have lasted hours and hours of when they were supposed to be asleep. The conversations seemed to keep Brooke sane. They would talk about anything and everything. They would discuss the future, the past, important events, insignificant quarrels, and everything in between and beyond. She knew that taking the others' time with Fivel would be selfish but it would only take a moment or so. "Do you mind...... giving me a few minutes with Fivel..... I really need some alone time with my "twin" here." She smiled at Fivel and took her good hand. "I promise I won't keep her to myself too long." She was very well aware that Fivel was precious to every single being in this room, but Fivel and Brooke were practically twin sisters. She wouldn't be too surprised to find out that they were fraternal twins separated at birth. "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaase"

Kao shrugs. "Normally I'd have more." He mutters, unable to make himself feel any better. At least she'd accepted the money, he doesn't know what he'd do if she'd tried to give it back. When Brooke asks for a few minutes alone, he stands up so quickly that it makes his head swim. "Of course, I'd forgotten that this is Fivel's room and it isn't proper for me to be here. Please get better, Fivel." He smiles and walks out the door.
(ah, sorry for the short length)

Fivel nodded to Kao as he left, still in shock from the gracious amount of money just handed to her. Rich people.. she thought with a mental scoff. Three hundred dollars is a ton! I don't think I have three hundred dollars' worth of anything, really. Until I held it in my hand. But as Kao left, she felt a little shadow pass over her on the inside. It did help that everyone stayed, which made her feel a little better, but it still felt like a gaping hole in her side that had just been removed. Winry closed the door lightly and looked at her with her light brown eyes. "..so what's on your mind, Fivel?" she asked, her voice soft. Fivel had no problem with all of her closest friends being here besides Kao, so she felt she could finally relax. "Well, I.." she started. "..I, I can't sleep. I can't eat. I can barely focus on my makeup work. Is something wrong with me? Am I terribly ill because of the past events, or is it something more..?" She noticed with a shimmer of annoyance that Winry was just beaming with happy glee. But she looked to the remainder of the room, hoping that it wasn't what Winry thought, or what Fivel hypothesized she was thinking. Paying homage to Winry's love plan for her was not her intention.

April grinned at Fivel's question, "You aren't sick, Fivel! You're in love!" she gave a squeal of excitement, "Which means you two must have kissed! Ooooh, yay!" April bounced excitedly. "Was it a nice kiss? Like, was it passionate or blissful? What was it like?" April was overjoyed that Fivel and Kao were doing well together. "Oh this is so exciting!!" she then snapped her fingers in realization. "That was why Kao was so awkward! No wonder! He felt awkward around you because you two kissed!"
