Brooke took a second to run back to shore, dry her hair with a towel, and pull on her extra oversized t-shirt. The cave was dreadfully cold and damp. She hopped on the rocks, trying to remain somewhat dry, all the way back to the cave. When she got there, she was shivering, but ready for adventure. She wasn't the bravest girl, but always curious. She led the way into the cave, but the light was dwindling behind her, until it was pitch black. She hated the dark, it was where creepers could hide. "Ermm....maybe this wasn't such a good idea...." she murmured. There was a small echo that followed, which gave her a wash of loneliness. She wasn't sure if anyone was following her really, she had just skipped into the dark death hole which possibly held doom eagerly looking for something fascinating.

April, who had gotten out of the water the moment she was able to, had been watching. When Brooke started walking into a cave, she began to follow, but stopped at Ginger's side. "Don't take it personally. All guys can be like that. I'm sure you just caught him by surprise, and remember, he hasn't seen you in a awhile. Give him time. And trust me," April grinned at her, "He's confused about why he moved away too." Mindreading can come in handy. April thought. Once they arrived at tue cave, April looked around. "Oh wow, it's pretty in here. I wonder if there are any bats." as she continued on deeper into the cave, into the pitch darkness, April said, "Wait, I think I have a flashlight. Hold on..." she rummaged through her tote bag until she found the flashlight. "Ah, here we are." she clicked it on and looked around the cave. "Ooh, look, it's a pretty little lake!" she directed the beam f light to the water, and it glistened and shined. "It looks nice and cool, too. And if you listen closely, you can hear it almost whispering!" faint little "shhhhhsh hushhhhhh shushhhhh" came from th lake. "It's like it's telling us to be quiet."

S O L E T T H I S D R O U G H T C O M E T O A N E N D Fivel's body followed Brooke into the cave, staring at the walls. Fivel, however, had laid back and was breathing deeply. She could barely concentrate, her head was pounding so hard. A sharp pain had erupted there, and she couldn't control it. The spirit laughed at her. Pitiful. she said. So weak. Fivel raised her head and glared at the Spirit, beads of sweat rolling down her face. She continued to breathe deeply, gasping for air. Kao is going to get you. she thought. And when he does, I'll enjoy watching you die. The spirit couldn't hear her. She was too busy staring at Nove. Good. Fivel thought. I didn't have an intention of letting you hear me anyway. Fivel softened at the thought of Kao. He'd done so much to try and save her, but it was too late. Evan had already made the deal with Flock and sold Fivel to the nefarious nurse. Evan was another problem at Fivel's hand. I should've noticed sooner that I couldn't be friends with Evan and be closer to Kao. What were her feelings for Kao, anyway? What were her feelings for him? You're a mindreader, stupid. One part of her said. You could've figured that out on your own. The second part of her was dominant, telling her that it went past people's personal boundries. "These caves are beautiful." Fivel's mouth moved and said. A N D M A Y T H I S D E S E R T F L O W E R A G A I N NOTES/None MUSIC/HereWORDCOUNT/242

Samie skirted the rocks, almost tripping over on and falling in the pond. At the last second, she gripped a different rock and sighed with relief. That would have been a mess. She grinned at Brooke and Fivel. "This is pretty awesome," she said. Samie carefully walked to where Brooke was standing and sat down on the cool ground. This sure beats melting in the scorching sun, she thought.

Brooke blinked at April's bright light eluminating the cave."Thanks April" She sighed with relief. Slowly, her eyes adjusted to the light. When she spotted the small body of water, she smiled. "PUDDLE!", she exclaimed, jumping in gleefully. When her toes made contact with the water, she gasped.
Darren was slightly struck with worry, Brooke was like his little sister. The water had splashed on him a little, and it caused him to flinch. It was a piercing temperature. Despite his worry, he chuckled at her goofy and dorky nature when just less than a minute ago, she seemed terrified of the cave, as if it was going to swallow her.
It was the coldest thing her body had ever experienced. She wasn't really as sensitive to the cold as she was to heat. She was speechless, frozen. She didn't even realize that she probably soaked all of her friends around her. She craned her head to look down at the surface of the water. She saw her feet, which were either blue from the temperature, blue from the tint of the water, or both. The water was crystal clear pool, absolutely beautiful. She wished she had some sort of bottle to fill up with the enchanting liquid to bring back to her dorm. She would put against the window sill and watch it sparkle in the sunlight. She frowned a little, staring at her reflection in the water as her toes started to morph into an ashen shade of violet.
Maybe the water had some sort of magical power, brooke's mind teased. This stuff always seemed to fascinate her. Most anything seemed to fascinate her really. She believed anything was possible. She thought about April's comment on the sounds the water made. It was true. The water seemed to whisper. It sounded almost like it was singing a hushed melody. She closed her eyes and got lost into the mysterious, near silent, enchanting melody.
