Among the rubble and sad ruins of the Havens, a man works tirelessly into the night to make the place into his own secret hideout. There are openings in the debris that his gaunt figure can just fit through that leads to the otherwise hidden passageways deeply concealed by shadows beneath the solemn, broken stone skeleton of the school that had stood the test of time only to collapse into the ashes of the fire that destroyed it. It upset the man deeply to see the school in such a state, and the already decayed, scorched corpses of the students who perished there that tragic evening. It was a sobering sight, and the man had done the best he could to bury the ones that were not crushed by the heavy pieces of stone. The scattered remains gave the already horrific scene a macabre touch.
Which was why they would not look for him here. The man was a fugitive on the run from authorities; people who would lock him up on a long, life sentence for a terrible crime. By day he stayed underground in the labyrinthine belly of the Havens, emerging only at night to work or to find an anonymously delivered picnic basket generously filled with food, water, and a couple of beers. Now, as the man once again descended into the darkness, basket in hand, he wondered what he should do about the current predicament - his and the Haven students. At the bottom of the stairs, the floor panned out into a large, cavernous space where the man had made his home.
Some time ago, a group of students has utilized this very room and called it the Atrium. As far as the man knew, anyway. With a grand wave of his hand, torches placed around the room lit themselves, illuminating the darkness and revealing the face of Samual Grimsley. He smirked as he looked about the room. Some of the powers he returned left residual memories in his gene cells.
"Oh," Samual groaned as he sat down at his little table. He set the picnic basket down and withdrew a beer, twisting the cap off and taking a long drought. "I wonder who keeps leaving these," Samaul mused. Then he frowned when he thought of other things. "Its been about three months. Talbot is dead, and everyone else is..gone. Plus I have a huge price on my head and the organization is probably looking for me too."
Samual grit his teeth at the thought of F.D.S. They'd been the start of all this trouble ever since the schism happened. But he'd played his part well. Everyone in F.D.S. had been fooled. The students and even his own son had been fooled.
It was such a risky business playing the part of an evil villain. Samual had a very good reason to. F.D.S. killed his wife, and had been trying all these years to kill his son. At birth, Samual had done something to Alucard's genetic makeup to strengthen his gifts, which F.D.S. feared because that would make Alucard the one gifted person who could not easily be destroyed. And in order to fight the organization, Samual needed to make his son hate him, because after the car accident the leader of F.D.S. made him work for them, and if Alucard hated Samual, it would give him a good reason to fight F.D.S. It was all part of the master plan.
