Fivel gasped for air. "What do you want from me, and why did you take my friends?" she yelled.
Flock laughed. "Fivel Baptiste." she said. "Psych-telepathic-telekinetc. One of the only six in the world." Fivel scrunched up her nose. Flock continued. "I want your power. If you cooperate, I'll let your friends go. But you have to stay with me."

Eva looks at Fivel in surprise. Had she ever considered him a friend? He grinds his teeth, irritated that now she's acting all 'honorable'. "Fivel, just let her keep us. That's so much better than..." He breaks off and starts coughing from the pressure of the chains on his chest.

____________________________________________________________ |Sitting in an empty roomTrying to forget the past| ____________________________________________________________________ Fivel struggled against her bounds again, glaring down the nurse. "And why should I trust you." she said. "How will I not know you'll just turn around and hurt them again? You almost killed Kao, if I hadn't of stopped you." Flock narrowed her eyes, her pupils slitting. "You really are a stubborn girl. Don't you know that if we continue this, one of them will at least choke to death?" She gestured to the twins, her eyes dark with haste. Fivel's eyes scanned over them. Her eyes hesitated on Evan as she captured his mindpath and then her eyes downcasted. She spoke loudly, her voice not shaking or cracking. "I'll do what you want." Fivel replied. "But let me have time to say something to my friends." Flock raised an eyebrow. "Very well. You have fifteen minutes, no more." Then she left the room. Fivel's bounds came undone and she fell to the ground, knees first. The twins' bounds also came undone and she ran to Evan. She took his hand, her own shaking. "I'm.. I'm so sorry, Evan." Fivel told him. "I crossed your boundries, and I didn't know. But how can people tell if you're upset if you'll never say anything?" Her eyes grew dark and a shadow passed over her forehead and area above her nose. "I'll make it right." she told him. At this she turned to Kao, the shadow not moving. Slowly, she placed her forefinger and thumb on his temples. "Kao." she said. "I'm going to erase your memories of me." ____________________________________________________________________ Notes: Finished. Don't worry, Evan/Flock prolly won't let Fivel erase his memories. Kao flops onto his stomach, coughing and gasping. He gets up and shakes his head in time to see Fivel run over to Evan. Evan stares at her, not sure whether he's angry or miserable. The apology made him feel better... but knowing that he pretty much sold her to Flock... now he's just feeling worse. "I... Stop trying to make me feel bad." He mumbles, hating himself.
Kao looks at Evan, confused. His eyes widen when Fivel touches him on his forehead. Forget? "No... Fivel, I want to remember you." He protests.

"What the hell? There is no right! We don't live in a dang movie." Kao protests, still trying to reason with her and still unwilling to move away. Evan suddenly realizes what Fivel is doing. A selfish part of him is glad. "Damnit, don't mess with his memories. It'll screw him up." He growls. That girl's not allowed to do him any more favors.

(Alright)
Evan sighs and fixes her with an unforgiving stare, or what he intends to be an unforgiving stare. He'd never been the type of person to do things halfway, so he's going to stay true to his nature and go through with what he'd agreed to do, no matter how much it hurts him or anyone else. I want to be the type of person who does what he says he will do. This apology of hers won't change that. The end result is still the same. He reasons with himself, feeling uneasy. Hopefully Kao won't find this out... then there'd be hell. "Just... make your dang decision and stop trying to be the 'better person'. He's right. Erasing yourself from his memories just makes you a coward and Kao brain damaged." Kao brain damaged... that would be enough to give him nightmares. And as for Fivel being a coward... Evan drops his eyes and stairs at the ground.
Besides him, Kao stares at his brother, trying to make sense of what's going on. For whatever reason he's getting the feeling that Evan isn't telling him something... but that would be impossible. He turns back to Fivel. "Listen to me. Tell her no, she won't be able to kill me. Or Evan. I can protect all of us, understand?"

S O L E T T H I S D R O U G H T C O M E T O A N E N D Fivel looked up at Kao, pushing her tears away with her hand. The other had been badly bruised when she was grabbed by Flock's chains. She lightly smiled. "Okay." she said quietly. "I trust you Kao." She turned to Evan, and took her hands in his. "And I trust you too, even if you don't trust me. This is all my fault, and I'm sorry." She dropped Evan's hands sympathetically so that he didn't have the chance to drop them himself. She turned to Kao again. "I won't give up. Okay? And don't give up on me." She used her knees to push herself up to near to Kao's height, and pecked him lightly on the cheek. "I'm not afraid of Flock. She can do whatever she wants to me. But you can't give up on me, and I can't give up on you. Alright?" Her cheeks were bright red, as she hadn't cried in a long time. It felt kind of... good. Better than keeping it all bundled up, right? She brushed back a lock of auburn hair, remembering when it had the flowers in it not long ago, remembering Kao's face when he admitted to her adoring of her, and when she'd laughed after. Kao wraps his arms around Fivel, not wanting her to know that he's almost crying. His hands rub her back, trying to assure themselves that she's there. = She feels so solid, so real to him now that it's almost impossible to think that she won't be this close again for a while, maybe forever. "I'm not giving up on you, Fivel. Stay alive and I'll come save you." He promises, growling in her ear. The red pieces of her hair tickle his face, she still smells amazing. "Don't cry, I'm going to make it alright." That was his job, right? He is earth and fire, so he protects the people he loves. Not being able to decapitate Flock and save Fivel here and now is killing him. He'd never felt this helpless before.
Evan bites his lip and stares at the ground. A brief image of himself smashing his head into a wall, breaking through skin and bone, flashes through his brain and he wishes for a moment that he could just end it like that. Why the hell would you trust me? He wants to yell at her, shake some sense into her. At least she was right about it being her fault. Grim faced, Evan stands up and closes his hand on the back of Kao's shirt, near his neck. "C'mon." He mutters.

S O L E T T H I S D R O U G H T C O M E T O A N E N D Fivel half-smiled sadly as she listened to Kao's words. He was so brave. And so was she, but it had it become a habit. She was so used to it. "Kao," she said quietly, as Evan yanked on his collar, "This may sound wierd, but would you mind telling my dad that I'm okay? I write to him every Friday, but I guess I won't have the chance now." Peh. Besides her hand being hurt, she felt a deep pain well up in her. What is this feeling? She wondered. It echoed in her upper chest, and it seemed vaguely familiar. Oh. she thought. It's heartbreak, isn't it? "That's enough." said a voice from the other side of the room. Fivel cried out as something began to coul around her feet. It continued to constric against her, until it had rapidly encased her whole body, leaving her head and neck. Flock spoke to Kao and Evan both. "I promise not to hurt one hair on your little friend's head," She caught Fivel before she fell off balance. Fivel stared at Evan, her big eyes seeing through him. I want to thank you. she thought-whispered to him. For- "Now then." Flock said. She reached forward and grabbed the back of Fivel's neck. Before Fivel could react, electricty sparked all over her skin, sending flashes of pain up her spine. Fivel screamed, and fell over, shaking. With an ounce left of strength, she craned her neck up to look at Evan. Her skin was charred in various areas. "For.. protecting him.. and making him... who he is... today.." Flock shocked her again, longer this time. Fivel's scream echoed around the abyss, until she blacked out with pain. A N D M A Y T H I S D E S E R T F L O W E R A G A I N NOTES/ Bah. This is so sad. Kao nods quickly. "Yeah, I've seen you write to him. Don't worry about it, I'll write to him and explain." He coughs a few times and hides his face behind one of his hands. He looks up as soon as Flock comes back and immediately wants to burn her alive. That's what smart people did to witches, anyways. He would have if he wasn't sure that she'd kill Fivel or Evan before he could succeed in turning her into charred flesh. "Stop hurting her, d-mnit!" He shouts at Flock, imagining strangling her. "We all agreed to this so stop it!" He slammed a fist against the concrete walls and scrapes up his knuckles.
Evan glared at the floor, torn between happiness that it was going to be just him and Kao again and guilt for hurting the girl who hadn't done anything more than be friends with the wrong person. He nods at her, to show her that he had heard more than anything else. Trying to actually understand her was to hard, to difficult, so he wasn't going to bother. Objectively, he was a person, and Fivel was also no more than a person. Therefore, their opinions should be equal and he should be allowed to think what he wanted. He covers his ears and pretends that he's fine.
