FAIL TO BE FREE i climbed a mountain simply looking for advice. all i found were children, playing innocent and nice. everyone was peaceful Three things were certain. The first was Kairi should be here and clearly wasn't. The second was that the sun wasn't warm enough (yes, he did feel entitled to make that assessment of the giant yellow orb in the sky), and the third was he was going to fall asleep. Great. This was an amazing first day, wasn't it? Well, it could have been worse.
"Next time, I'm staying in Scotland.
"Silas murmured to himself as he dropped his forehead into the green grass beneath him. The sudden smell of dirt actually made him sorta happy, though the fact that it clung to the tip of his nose was anything but appealing. Silas, in general, did not find the smell of anything in nature to be particularly appealing. Fruits were delicious, but not flowers, and certainly not dirt. However, he was seeking anything familiar in that moment. Imagine that, dirt in Scotland was just like the dirt here in this garden! It was a start.[/blockquote]

Sheer walks up to the new kid and looks at him curiously through the bits of his almost-shoulder-length white hair. As usual, he isn't wearing the dress code, instead he's wearing a grey t-shirt with 'Bite Me' stamped on it and black skinny jeans. "Um... is this yoga?" He asks, tilting his head slightly to the side. "Alright then. I'm Sheer, you're new, right?" He scratches his head and then decides to sit down next to the new kid because he doesn't have anything else to do and he's bored. That's the official reason, anyways. He'd spent the day dodging Ms. Waters, an annoying but weirdly likable english teacher who'd taken a morbid interest in his well being. She had been patrolling the dorms and the hallways so the garden and a closet were his only options. Normally he would have taken a nap in a tree, but ever since Robin had started hanging out with that creepy vampire he'd been bored. No one to talk to. Sheer grins his teeth together, irritated with the direction his thoughts are taking.

FAIL TO BE FREE i climbed a mountain simply looking for advice. all i found were children, playing innocent and nice. everyone was peaceful Oh, man, he probably looked like a real champ. Face down in the ground, still as a corpse, the kid addressing him just had to be impressed by his prowess. To rectify the situation, Silas pushed himself up to a sitting position, his hands going to his black hair to brush away any grass or dirt that may be clinging there.
"No, not yoga.
"Silas replied curtly. When he spoke again, providing the formalities, his tone was calmer. " I'm Silas. I just arrived. It's nice to meet you, Sheer. Been here a while?" It seemed like a good thing to know. If the kid knew his way, he'd be useful to be aware of, just in case he ever got lost. Not that he was one to ask for help directly.[/blockquote]

Sheer smiles slightly at some private thing he's thinking, but when he looks back at Silas his smile becomes less cruel and more genuine, friendly even. "Hey, you've got a cool name, it's almost as weird as mine." He laughs. Of course, his is made up, but not many people realized that. "I've been here for about three years. And I'll probably still be here three years from now. Did you say that you're from Scotland? Is it really as cold there as everyone thinks it is?"

Brooke skipped around the garden, mindless and unaware that anyone else was also out among the flowers. Humming a tune that accompanied her careless nature well, she paused to smell the rich scented roses, her favorite. The vivid roses reminded her of home, Sealand. Then she suddenly heard distant talk about Scotland's weather. She turned to find two guys talking. "Is the weather there like Sealand? That's where I'm from." Brooke offered them a warm, friendly smile. "Around summer, it ranges from 10 to 25 degrees, and rain is pretty much expected daily. It's off the cost of England."

FAIL TO BE FREE i climbed a mountain simply looking for advice. all i found were children, playing innocent and nice. everyone was peaceful Silas nodded in acknowledgement to Sheer's compliment, offering a quick 'uh-huh', but nothing more. He was more interested in the fact that Sheer'd been at the school three years- perfect! But why'd he say that he'd be there three more years? It made Silas hesitate. Come on, Sheer couldn't be that young, could he?
"Right...
"Silas murmured. " I did?" By Silas' baffled expression, he genuinely didn't seem to know that he'd spoken aloud before. After a few seconds delay (and by the time Sheer had his question out), Silas realized Sheer was right. He had mentioned Scotland. " Uhm, no? It isn't too bad. I mean, ... It's not Antarctica or Alaska or anything."Silas replied. " We get regular intervals of sun, and the snow isn't too terrible there. Still- it's relative. Where I lived, Paisley, it wasn't as warm as say, Florida." Wow. Hello, skipping girl. Wasn't he popular? Silas hesitated at her question. Was the weather similar to another place was her question, which left him smiling faintly. That was a good question. A very direct question. " Well, I guess- Maybe a bit colder than Sealand. It's farther north. But I've never been to Sealand, so I don't know for sure."Silas replied with a shrug. He probably should have mentioned he was really bad with geography. History, he was fine with, but the moment it turned technical and geographical, he was lost.[/blockquote]

The corners of Sheer's mouth twitch in a bit of an amused smile at how confused Silas looks. Also one who talks out loud to himself, he can sympathize. "That doesn't sound to bad, maybe I'll go visit." He shrugs, trying to connect what Silas just said with his previous impression of Scotland.
Sheer looks up at the girl with the curly brown hair and blue eyes, recognizing her as Brooke. "Uh, who're you?" He asks because he's never talked to her before. Even though he is a bit of a stalker she probably wouldn't appreciate knowing. Lazily he stretches and fiddles with his string bracelets. It's amazing that a question about the weather had gotten her interested in their conversation. He'd only said that because he hadn't known what else to say.
(Sheer is 17, he meant that as a joke because he feels like the teachers will never trust him enough to let him out of Castle)

Peering at the two guys, she recognized the one with white hair as Sheer. She had heard about him before, and knows him as the rebel of the school. It's also hard to miss an older looking guy with white hair at Castle. "Hi Sheer, I'm Brooke. I've seen you around school, I'm not a stalker or anything." She joked. She turned to Silas, frowning. "I'm afraid I don't know who you are. What's your name? Are you new?" She questioned, playing with her hair.

FAIL TO BE FREE i climbed a mountain simply looking for advice. all i found were children, playing innocent and nice. everyone was peaceful "Well, let me know- I could give you the grand tour.
"Silas smirked. He really would enjoy giving Sheer a rundown of his home country. It was a daunting challenge, realistically- the country was pretty expansive, though nothing compared to most countries. Still, growing up there, he knew a fair bit of information. (most of it he considered useless) " Yeah- I'm Silas, and I just got here."Silas answered with a warm smile. It was a bit odd telling people his name- he was used to everyone knowing who he was and resigning themselves to calling him 'Sly'. But in a way, it was sort of nice. He was just another kid now. Not a trouble maker, just himself.[/blockquote]

"I'm not worried about you being the one who stalks people." Sheer laughs, his normally deep voice sounding vaguelly creepy, before he can stop himself. He'd always had a rather mean sense of humor. "Anyways, nice to meet you." He turns back to Silas. "Tour? Let me know when and I'll be there." Sheer smiles slightly at the new kid, wondering if he actually means it. Probably not, because that's just how people are. "Speaking of which, do you need a tour of around here? It's pretty big and people get lost. This one kid almost starved and another fell of a ledge and died."

"Silas....That is one cool name...." Said Brooke "Sheer is pretty cool too." She smiled, happy that she was making new friends swiftly. Her smile vanished when she heard about the kids that almost died. "Starved.....? Ledge....? What ledge? Died?" She questioned, panicked. Her blue eyes widened at this new fact. She was the queen of getting lost, it took her forever to find her own dorm. And she had a map. She got lost even back home in Sealand, even though she lived there since she was born until she moved to Castle. Sealand was also the world's smallest nation, just over 200 square meters. Castle was probably much larger than two Sealands....

FAIL TO BE FREE i climbed a mountain simply looking for advice. all i found were children, playing innocent and nice. everyone was peaceful Silas chuckled at the 'dire warning' from Sheer. He was fairly certain it was just a little hazing. Surely a kid hadn't really died from a fall, and if they had, he doubted it was really an accident that he fell. And really? Starving? How did you starve in a place like this? There was vegetation around, and he doubted they'd just resign themselves to it. So, it had to be a joke. When Brooke took it seriously (since he certainly wasn't) he felt a little bad even though he hadn't said it.
"Ignore him, I'm sure he's just trying to scare me.
"Silas offered reassuringly. " Don't you think you would have heard about someone dying? It isn't that large of a school, and that's usually classified as important information. People wouldn't keep it to themselves, would they?" Unless it really was a murder, then it'd be pretty hush-hush. But that was just his mind jumping to the worse conclusion, wasn't it? He chalked it up to his normal, dark nature and kept it to himself.[/blockquote]

Considering Silas's words, Brooke let out a sigh of relief "Sheer...." She muttered angrily, shooting him a glare. "Thanks Silas, You're nice...and smart" It was only common sense, but she couldn't help being scared. This is a pretty old school, and she's witnessed some things at Castle she cannot forget.

Sheer laughs, trying to push some of the blame off of himself. He'd meant it as a joke to mess with Silas a bit, but he hadn't intended to really scare anyone, least of all Brooke. "Sorry." He shrugs with a small smile. "It was a joke. Silas is right, they watch us all to much for anyone to break a fingernail, let alone any part of his body."

{lol brooke is a naive and innocent girl who gets annoyed easily} Brooke pouted angrily at Sheer. She punched him in the arm, folded her own arms, and turned her back towards him. "Bully...." She murmured. She took this moment to listen to Sheer's and Silas's songs. Both were quite intriguing. Sheer's was a smart melody, cunning and clever with a dash of humor. It also sounded lost, like a misunderstood rebel wishing people knew the real him. That was her interpretation of it at least. Silas's song sounded, well, it sounded Scottish and somewhat sly. It was different, in a good way. Both were incredulously unique, true to themselves.
